South Africa (Springboks) reached on Sunday at Nelson Mandela Bay and will compete in the Castle Rag Rugby Championship 2021 with New Zealand, Argentina, and Australia.

Before this, South Africa had a 19-16 victory over the Castle Lager Lions series in the final against the British and Irish Lions in Cape Town on Saturday.

After Duane Vermeulen (No. 8), Rosko Specman (wing-forward), Jaden Hendrikse (scrumhalf), and Johan Grobbelaar (hooker) were called up last week, RG Snyman (locked) will rejoin the team next week, bringing the size of the team to 43 players.

Springbok trainer Jacques Nienaber and his headset off from their home city to Nelson Mandela Bay on Sunday afternoon, and will start preparations on the field for the Southern Hemisphere Wonders on Monday.

Nienaber said, we are confident about winning the Castle Lager Lions Series, and as a team, we enjoyed celebrating this tremendous achievement on Saturday night; however, we have a great week ahead.

Our first rugby championship match against Argentina will happen on Saturday, so all we do now has to be focused on delivering high-quality performance to start our campaign.

We play two Rugby Championship matches in Nelson Mandela Bay, and then we're going to Australasia for the away match of the events.
