The Rugby Championship Revised Draw 2020

The Rugby Championship (SANZAAR) Revised Draw 2020

TRC 2020 Match Schedule

The Rugby Australia and SANZAAR declared today a revised draw for the Rugby Championship 2020.

Currently the twelve match competition will happen across 7 weeks. The New Zealand VS Australia match will be moved from 12 December to 31st October 2020 at the ANZ Stadium in Sydney.

On Saturday 12 December the South Africa’s Test against Argentina has moved to the McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle to end the game.

The rest of the draw remains unchanged. On Saturday, November 7th, five consecutive weeks of double headers begin at Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane. The kick-off time has also been determined.

It has been an unforgettable match that the Springboks will play for the first time since they became world champions at the Japan Rugby World Cup facing Argentina on the second match day last year. November 7 (Saturday) will also be the first country/region to face off in a test match doubles match.

Andy Marinos, CEO of SANZAAR, said: “The opening of the travel bubble between New Zealand and Australia in New Zealand and the agreement between the two parties on the revised commercial results has allowed the joint venture to consider alternative solutions. To solve our two main goals that are commercially viable and Player welfare"

With the support of the New South Wales government, South Africa, Argentina and New Zealand, the Australian Rugby and SANZAR Rugby Association have been actively proposing many feasible solutions, which now allow us to adjust the draw. The final revised draw will see double-header the New Zealand VS Australia match originally scheduled to be held at the ANZ Stadium on December 12, as an independent match to be held at the ANZ Stadium on October 31. The Argentina VS South Africa match scheduled to be held at the ANZ Stadium on December 12 has been moved to McDonald Jones Stadium in Newcastle.
