A large number of Springboks, Blitzboks, and Junior Boks entered the 25-man lineup after the first exciting live draft in the history of South African rugby. The Castle Lager Springbok showdown will start on Saturday, 3rd October 2020 in Cape Town. These two teams have 13 Rugby World Cup champions in Japan since last year, as well as some exciting young players who will join established national players in the much-anticipated match at DHL Newlands next Saturday, which will begin at 5:05 P.M.

SA Rugby Rugby Director Rassie Erasmus and the newly appointed Springboks coach Jacques Nienaber conducted a live draw at the SuperSport studio in Johannesburg on Friday night to select the 25-man team.

Erasmus is the captain of the Green team, which will be coached by Mzwandile Stick, whereas Ninabo (captain) and Deon Davids (Coach) will be in charge of the Gold team.

The 50 players promoted from the draft were selected from the original 93 players announced last week. On Sunday, 27th September, the two teams and managers will gather in Cape Town. They will prepare for the Matchday in their own bio-foam environment.

These players are all from South Africa, drafted by their respective captains and coaches on live TV and assembled into two teams, each with 25 players.

In addition, each team will add eight rookies, whose names will be declared in the next few days. These players will back to their state the day before the game. If they do not need to enter any team as a substitute, they will be selected to obtain experience in the typical Springboks environment during the weeklong preparation for the much-anticipated Cape Town battle.
