SANZAAR  has suspended the 2020 schedule because of the critical situations of Covid-19. They announced the revised schedule of 2020 Super rugby which will be held inside the member nations as soon as the Government restrictions permit it.

The season will start on 13 June 2020 in New Zealand. Australia and South Africa will play next in July, they both will play for home competitions once the government restrictions permit it.

Investec Super Rugby Aotearoa is a world-first professional rugby event where fans will return massively in the era of Covid-19, the tournament will be held in Dunedin on 13 June.

Finally, New Zealand Rugby has confirmed that there will be no audience limit if the Highlanders play the Chiefs at Forsyth Barr Stadium in Dunedin on 13 June 2020, The next day Blues will play against Hurricanes in Eden Park on 14 June 2020.

The great news for all rugby fans that super rugby competition will be held with the audience after New Zealand's government confirmation.

Mark Robinson who is Chief Executive of New Zealand Rugby said that the Government declaration was incredible news for all rugby fans.

Further, he said that this a big proof for all New Zealanders that we are able to raise limits on heap meetings and it is a huge improvement for Investec Super Rugby Aotearoa.

Aotearoa Super Rugby tournament format

New Zealand event includes 5 teams, Blues, Chiefs, Hurricanes, Crusaders and Highlanders.
Ten weeks consists of twenty matches
Per club play eight matches – 4 home, 4 away, and 2 byes.
Each weekend includes two matches –  Saturday 5.05 pm and  Sunday 3.35 pm.
Games Locations: FMG Stadium Waikato, Hamilton; Sky Stadium, Wellington; Forsyth Barr Stadium, Dunedin; Auckland and Christchurch.
