The Sunwolves or the Japanese Sunwolves are the professional rugby union team that plays in the Super Rugby. Sunwolves are currently known as HITO-Communications Sunwolves after the sponsorship reasons. They are based from Tokyo, Japan and their home stadium is Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium in Tokyo. This is the only team from Japan which represents the whole of Asia. Wolves are in Australian Conference because of the region closeness to Asia. The body of rugby “SANZAAR” recently in 2016 added them in Super Rugby. Yuichi Ueno is the Chairman of the union and Yuji Watase is the CEO respectively. Both New Zealanders Michael Little and Craig Millar are the captains of the side. Takuma Asahara with 25 is the most caps player, Hayden Parker with 136 points is the Top Scorer. The Japanese player Akihito Yamada with (9) times is the most tries player of the team.
Sunwolves entered in the Super Rugby in 2016 event, it was their first year so they didn’t do much. They ended the first year of them on the last position of 18th place out of 18 teams. For 2016 and 2017 the tournament had 18 teams in it. They are learning about the event with some new faces that aren’t aware much about the format. Super Rugby tournament mostly is dominated by the teams of New Zealand or South-African conferences. The Sunwolves rugby union is looking forward to doing some good in this season.

After the last three years, bad performance 2019 Sunwolves Squad had some experienced professionals from mixed teams especially New Zealand. Both of their Captains are All Blacks players. Japanese player will definitely learn from them as they are quite good at Super Rugby. Wolves have almost all rugby famous nations’ player on their side which is a good sign for them.
