The Hurricanes or formerly the Wellington Hurricanes are a New Zealand conference rugby union which plays in Super Rugby. They are nicknamed as The 'Canes. The team is based from Wellington in New Zealand and their home ground is Westpac Stadium. The ground has 34,500 viewers seating arrangements for a match. Hurricanes represent these sub-regions East Coast, Hawke's Bay, Horowhenua Kapiti, Poverty Bay, Manawatu, Wairarapa-Bush, Wanganui and Wellington unions. John Plumtree is the head coach of the side and New Zealand rugby union Hooker Dane Coles is the Captain. Ma'a Nonu & Conrad Smith with 126 times are the most caps players of Hurricanes. Beauden Barrett having 1118 points is the top scorer of the team.
The last 4 seasons were exceptional for Hurricanes in Super Rugby as they had a good record, winning the championship in 2016. Hurricanes were the finalist in 2015, lost the final and secured 2nd place. In the past two years, they were semi-finalist of the Super Rugby event. Before that, they were a great team of Super 14 and Super 12 as well. They were in top 4 in that era, qualified either for Semi-final or Final.

Team Hurricanes current squad consists of its own countrymen’s because they only signed one player of Scotland. Finlay Christie will perform the duty for the position of Halfbacks (Scrum-halves). Other than that all the members of Hurricanes 2019 Squad are from New Zealand, who plays international or domestic. They are looking forward to getting the title under the leadership of Dane Coles.
