After the New Zealand government announced that it would lift restrictions on the ground in Auckland, the Eden Park cemetery in Wallabies will be occupied by All Blacks fans. Australia hasn't won in New Zealand's rugby bastion for 34 years. This was the last defeat by Andrew Slack in 1986.

New Zealand Rugby General Manager Chris Lendrum said that after canceling two major domestic games in Auckland, confirming the game in Auckland is good news. Lundrum said in a statement: "Auckland fans were absent from the North vs South and Blues vs Crusaders last month, so this is positive news and they will be able to enjoy Test Rugby.
